My main devices right now are my Nexus 4 and Nexus 7. I was very fortunate to purchase a Nexus 4 when they were released considering the fiasco that ensued. I love the device. In the 8 months that I’ve owned the N4 I can say that it is the best phone I have owned to date. Are there better phones out right now, absolutely, but with the Nexus 4 I receive updates, straight from Google, first. The Nexus 4 is a gorgeous phone, with its all glass front and back. I did however shatter the back of my Nexus 4 in a losing battle with a handrail. So needless to say I am not a fan of an all glass back no matter how gorgeous it is. With screen sizes getting bigger and bigger the Nexus 4′s 4.7 inch display feels like a great size at first but in the past couple of months I’ve been wanting something a little bigger. Maybe I’m just drinking the Kool-Aid and following the fad.
When I first received my Nexus 7 I was in love. The form factor, the speed, the feel, it was perfect. I preordered it on day 1. The 7 inch screen size was just right in my opinion, it’s portable, very comfortable in the hands and my 3 year old loves it. Fast forward almost a year later and the device is a little cumbersome to use. It can be laggy most of the time and with not much applications installed and a master reset performed, I’ve tried all the tricks to get it back to its glory days. I still use the device every day and use it exclusively at home, I do however notice the problems a lot more now so I’m excited about a possible new Nexus 7.
All in all, I’ve been very happy with the Nexus program. I am looking very forward to the new tech that Google gets out. I’m eager to check out Google Glass for myself and am giddy like a school girl about the Google smart watch rumors but we don’t do rumors unless it involves teleportation, hover boards or light sabers. We’re only 3-5 years away from that stuff anyway. I know a guy who saw a thing.
